Professional trumpet & flugelhorn recordings, ready to use

Hello, I’m Marius, a trumpet player based in Norway. I’ve been making a living playing music for most of my adult life, both live and in the studio.

These days, much of my studio work is done remotely. I record trumpet, flugelhorn, overdubs and complete horn sections, and deliver clean, ready-to-use files.

Send me your track, and I’ll record what you need and send the files back ready to drop into your project.

Written parts, MIDI mock-ups or just an idea — they all work.

Remote Recording

Most of my remote work is for artists, arrangers and producers. It can be anything from a single line or solo to overdubs and complete trumpet or horn sections.

I work closely with you and normally deliver quickly. If you need to hear something different, revisions are straightforward.

For larger horn sections, I can bring in trombone and saxophone players and take care of the whole recording.

How it works

Send me the track along with any written parts, MIDI or references you have. We’ll agree on what’s needed before I record.

I normally record within a day or two whenever my schedule allows, and send you clean files to use or edit further in production.

If you’re not quite sure what you need yet, that’s completely fine too.

About

I studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music and have worked as a freelance trumpet player since the late 1990s. My work has covered a pretty wide range of music – from small jazz groups and pop sessions to big bands, symphony orchestras and other large ensembles.

I’ve worked with artists, bands and orchestras in Norway and abroad, including Oslo Jazz Ensemble, Geir Lysne Listening Ensemble, Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and the Danish Radio Big Band.

I’ve always enjoyed being in the studio. My own or somebody else’s – I just think it’s fun.

Experience

Over the years I’ve performed, recorded and toured with artists including Maria Schneider, David Sanborn, Randy Brecker, Kurt Elling, Michel Camilo, Diane Schuur, Mory Kanté and Marilyn Mazur. I’ve also worked extensively with professional jazz orchestras and ensembles in Scandinavia.

I’ve toured throughout Europe as well as the United States, India, Japan, Morocco, Syria and South Africa, and appeared on more than 150 recordings, including releases that have received Norwegian Grammy Awards and Germany’s Echo Award.

Studio

I record from my own studio, using a selection of ribbon, condenser and dynamic microphones. I choose the microphone and setup to suit the track rather than using the same chain for everything.

Sessions are normally delivered as clean, dry 48 kHz WAV files. I can also provide a reference mix, alternate takes or microphone options when useful.
